Cleansing is an important step in caring for your skin, but can also be one of the most problematic steps if you have sensitive skin.  It is important to remove built up dirt, including sunscreen and make-up, but over-cleansing can damage the skins barrier function and lead to or worsen sensitive areas.  Likewise, an ineffective cleanser can contribute to sensitivity by not removing pore-clogging ingredients – which may additionally contribute to the development of acne.   

Oil cleansers are an excellent choice for people with sensitive skin.  Although it may sound total BS to clean your skin with oil, it is actually a highly effective way of removing makeup and sunscreen without over-stripping your skin. Yep, chuck out all your make-up removers, micellar waters, and make-up removing wipes; chances are they were not that kind to your skin anyway!  The oil dissolves make-up and sunscreen effortless, then emulsifies when water is added to give a creamy texture that is easily rinsed away with more water.

# Always patch test new products before first use

Place 2-3 pumps of face cleansing oil into the palm of your clean hands and gently massage all over your DRY face for a good 20-30 seconds.  Ensure you include your eyes and lips if you had make-up on these areas.  Then rinse well with warm water.  Follow on with our face cream cleanser to complete your cleansing routine.

You should not experience any sensitivity, nor be left with stripped skin, but your make-up and sunscreen will be effectively removed.
